The Dow Jones index, which is composed of 30 blue-chip companies will drop Alcoa Inc (NYSE:AA), Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ), and Bank of America Corp (NYSE:BAC) from its index. These three icons of American business were dropped because of declining stock prices. Visa Inc (NYSE:V), Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE:GS), and Nike Inc (NYSE:NKE) are the expected replacements. The change will be effective on the trading day of September 23rd. In current trading, all the replacement stocks are trading higher. In terms of the dropped stocks, Bank of America seems the least effected in current trading.
