Shares of FuelCell Energy Inc(NASDAQ:FCEL) are soaring in early trading after the fuel cell provider received a $2.8 million continuation grant from the U.S. Department of Energy to develop fuel cell power plants with the capacity to deliver electricity, hydrogen, and heat as alternative clean sources of energy for industry to use. On the other hand, FuelCell’s competitor Plug Power Inc(NASDAQ:PLUG) is also riding high this morningon news that it signed a supply deal with six Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (NYSE:WMT) distribution centers. Plug Power will be providing fuel cell power to the distribution centers. Fuel Cell Power is efficient, reduces dependency on oil, and less costly.
