American Realty Capital Properties Inc (NASDAQ:ARCP) will acquire Cole Real Estate Investments Inc (NYSE:COLE) for $6.85 billion with a 14 percent premium to Cole. The total deal is value at $11.2 billion. The combination will create one of the largest providers of commercial property rentals. American Realty has its hands on single tenant retail, industrial properties, and office buildings. Acquiring Cole will increase American Realty’s portfolio of properties to 3,732, which would be 51 properties above their current competitor Realty Income Corp (NYSE:O). Some of American Realty tenants are FedEx, Walgreens, Bed Bath & Beyond, Dollar General, and CVS pharmacies. The deal will be finalized in the first quarter of 2014.
