Harley-Davidson, Inc. (NYSE:HOG) reported stellar third-quarter earnings driven largely by summer sales in the states. Third-quarter earnings were $162.7 million, or 73 cents per share, which was in line with Reuters an expectation. Compared to a year ago, profits have increased by $28.7 million. Sales in North America were up 19 percent compared to a worldwide surge of 15.5 percent. The company will ship a range of 259,000 to 264,000 bikes worldwide by the end of 2013. Revenue also rose by 7 percent in the quarter. But, the European market still continues to be a struggle for the company.
