(Image source: mcdonalds.ca) In partnership with Kraft Foods Group Inc (NASDAQ:KRFT), McDonald's Corporation (NYSE:MCD) will begin selling bagged coffee at US supermarkets and similar retailers starting next year. The company already sells McCafe bagged coffee in Canada, which retails about $7 for a 12 ounce bag. The bagged coffee products will be in direct competition with Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts. According to The Daily Meal, the coffee packaged industry grosses about 5.6 billion annually. No wonder McDonald’s wants in! I'm not a coffee drinker, but it sounds like a good business move.
